Welcome:

Solomon's World Daycare would like to thank you for taking the time to learn more about our program. We believe that childcare is an important decision and we are happy that you are considering us as the daycare in which to entrusting the care and development of your child(ren). Our educational philosophy is based on the belief that GOD is the source of true knowledge and that the fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom. Within our educational setting, students learn both the individual and the social implication of moral and ethical behavior. We focus on teaching children godly principles and encouraging them to embrace the vision of GOD, which will assist them in facing the world.

Solomon's World Daycare is a co-op program with parents and others sharing joint responsibility for the growth of students.  Relationships with parents are invaluable to all parties concerned. It is only through a true partnership of home and school that a student can properly be educated.

Mission:

The primary mission of Solomon's World Daycare is to create solid foundations for spiritual and academic growth and development.  We will do this by creating an environment that exemplifies a life-long commitment to Jesus Christ.  A nurturing environment that facilitates the character, spiritual, social, intellectual emotional and physical, growth and development of our children.

Parent Teacher Group:

Our purpose and goal is a simple one - to join parents and teachers together for the common good of Solomon's World Childcare Center.

We encourage and support parent participation in the center, provide a conducive forum for parents to discuss changes in the center and support the center through various activities including: tokens of love for all staff at Christmas, childcare and meals for staff during staff development training, video and book library, Gift for the center at the end of the academic year and gifts for rising K-5 as they transition to school. We believe that children with involved parents thrive our goal is to establish this at a young age with the prayer that it will continue for life.

We meet once a month with the hopes of moving to bi-monthly for the 2006-2007 school year. We elect a committee at the end of each school year for the upcoming year. This committee includes a president, vice-president, treasurer, secretary, a  member at large and the director.

Health and Safety:

It is the intention of Solomon's World Daycare to operate a center that is sanitized regularly in order to keep germs and the spread of germs to a minimum.  Children are checked daily for symptoms of illnesses. Children who show symptoms of illnesses should not be brought to the center. Illnesses include but are not limited to fever, diarrhea, unexplained rash, deep cough, oozing from the eyes, and thick colored mucus from nostrils, vomiting or communicable disease.

Should your child develop any of the above symptoms while at the center, you will be called to pick up your child. When called, you or an alternate emergency person will be expected to pick up your child within 30 minutes of that call.  Picking up your child in this timely manner protects the health of other children and teachers.

NOTE: Children must be symptom free for twenty- four hours without the aid of medications before they can return to the Daycare center.

Guilford County Department of Public Health provides Solomon's World Daycare with a child care/ preschool nurse who audits our immunization records, maintains current dental checks and vision checks. This nurse also facilitates workshops for the continuing education of our staff on topics such as SIDS, CPR, first aid and playground safety.
