Brooks has commissioned Mount Zion Baptist Church to focus on four distinct
areas:
- Prayer: is the means by which we get heavenly solutions
and directions to earthly challenges by talking to the creator of
the heavens and the earth-God. We believe that prayer is as essential
to the Christian life as breathing is to the body.
- Youth: the developing and maturing persons 18 years
old or younger who are significant in our present age and the decision-makers
and leaders of the coming age.
- Family: the DNA of each individual that ultimately
becomes the building block for society. As goes the family so goes
the community, the state, the nation and society.
- Stewardship: Being responsible and accountable
to God for everything He has placed within our sphere
of authority and influence.

No Solicitation Policy
Although we encourage entrepreneurship, we DO NOT permit businesses to distribute promotional materials or products on our campus. Occasionally, there are events held throughout the year that serve as opportunities for businesses to showcase their products and services. However, Sundays are not one of those times. If you are approached with any form of solicitation that has not been mentioned or supported from the pulpit, decline the offer and notify the person of our no solicitation policy.
Twan Chi Martial Arts / Self Defense
Ever want to learn a form of martial arts/self defense? If so, then join the Twan Chi Martial Arts class on Thursdays at 6:30-8:00 pm in Room 233. There is no cost to participate. The class is open to male and females ages 13 and older.
Free Financial Literacy Seminars
Free Financial Literacy Seminars are currently taking place! Two hours can change your life. What you do not know can hurt you. Class topics include: Credit and Debt, Understanding Insurance, Automobile Financing, Foreclosure Avoidance and Bankruptcy and 401-K Retirement Savings. Pre-registration is required. Choose your seminar(s) and date and then pre-register by calling (336) 273-7930 or signing up following Sunday Worship Service. Please note, these are stand alone seminars, attendance at more than one session is not required. It's your time now, Young Men's Month is here!!! This year's theme is ONE MAN UNDER GOD! There will be a host of events held throughout the month of November (listed below). A t-shirt is available for purchase (deadline November 19) for $15. This t-shirt will be worn during a special Youth BLAZE service. Wednesday, November 5 - Male Step Practice
Calling all young men that want to put their foot on the devil's neck. This Wednesday's Bible study is to prep our young men for the battlefield.
Saturday, November 8 - "Man Up" Father and Son Breakfast
Come and join the Men of Valor over a breakfast to discuss what we do as a people. Special guest speaker will be Damien Mills

Wednesday, November 12 - Get Pumped Up Night
Come and join us on a HIGH-OCTANE workout night with fitness trainer Terrell Stanback of King's Kid Fitness. Please bring workout attire.

A day of hands-on training and interactions with the many things our young men face and things they should be prepared for as young men.

Come out and be inspired by Christian Business men. There will also be an opportunity for you to ask questions and receive a wealth of information.

Saturday, November 22 - 5 on 5 Flag Football Tournament
This time it's serious...smash mouth football, no that's a joke. Five-on-five flag football tournament with a cash prize of $200. All teams must have at least two middle school players. Deadline to register is Wednesday, November 19.

Wednesday, December 3 - "So You Think You Can Dance" Training Class
(This is a young men and ladies event.) So you think you can dance because you know how to Super-man, Harlem-shake, Hill-toe, Crunk and even Walk it Out? Well, we are raising the bar! Come and bring a friend to learn and test your skills on the Tango, the Waltz, etc. Let's see how good you really are.

Upcoming Events
12/12- The Daughters of Destiny presents their annual ladies' night out: Talent and Fashion Showstopper - Tweens, Teens and Queens" on Friday, December 12 at 7:00 pm in the Chapel. FREE registration is taking place in the lobby following service. Deadline to register is Sunday, November 23. Ladies are asked to bring a "NEW" baby item for Admission. Items will be donated to various women's help agencies. NOTE: Auditions for Showstopper will take place on Wednesday, November 5 (6:00 pm) and Sunday November 9 (immediately after service). The washing of another's feet signifies a spirit of humility and sacrifice, two powerful weapons the enemy hates. Make this pivotal moment in your marriage. Come receive a blessing upon your relationship and decree "Divorce is Not an Option".
