What is a Youth BLAZE Service like?
It’s like a spiritual volcanic eruption!! Lava sits in the volcano hot and ready to explode, but what causes the explosion is the pressure of the gas within the earth’s crust. Students are just like the volcano, you see their potential to explode for Christ, their calling, and their community because you know what rest inside of them is ready to come out. So we pressure the environment at our Youth experience to be relevant and radical to meet the needs in what they face day to day. Some Sundays are full of discussions, videos and skits, worship and word…. Honestly, who knows what to expect. We’ll try anything to cause a spiritual blaze!!!
Once any volcano erupts it has to affect everything around it! Our purpose in our Sunday Morning experience is to equip and encourage our students to affect everything in the environment for Jesus Christ.
Is there a dress code in the Youth BLAZE Experience?
This generation does not know Christ through clothes as they should not. This generation sees Christ through character. Our youth ministry focuses on character building and clothes is the byproduct of their walk with Christ. We do endorse cleanliness and neatness; however we do not reject or ridicule those who do not have the so-called “Christian” look. The Prodigal Son is a great example, the son came out of the slop and went immediately home. He never changed himself he only went to the father with what he was already wearing. Our focus is the students come just as they are and the love of our Father in heaven redresses them as the father in the prodigal son dressed him as our Heavenly Father redressed us.
