A New Believer is a previous non-Christian person gaining a belief in Christ. Christianity is the foundational experience of Christian life. Becoming a Christian involves belief (faith) in God, repentance of sin, confession of Jesus Christ as the Son of God, and the only means by whom one’s sin can be forgiven, therefore the only route to salvation (John 14:6). While becoming a new believer may simply involve a choice to identify with Christianity rather than with another religion, we understand it to mean that the individual attains eternal salvation.
