Bishop Bryan J. Pierce, Sr. serves as the Senior Pastor and Chief Executive Officer of Mount Zion Baptist Church of Greensboro, Inc. He was born in New Orleans, LA where he began preaching at the age of six, was licensed at the age of nine, and was ordained by the age of 19. After he was ordained, Bishop Pierce served as Youth Pastor at Greater St. Stephens Full Gospel Baptist Church under the leadership of his spiritual father, Bishop Paul S. Morton, Sr.

In 1996, Bishop Pierce relocated to Greensboro, NC where he served in full-time ministry as Pastor of Evangelism at Mount Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of Bishop George W. Brooks. In July of 1999, he was installed as Senior Pastor at Bethel Baptist Church Ministries in Kannapolis, NC where he served faithfully until his reappointment to Mount Zion. It was in June of 2011 that Bishop Pierce became the Chief Administrative Officer at Mount Zion and worked diligently until his elevation to Senior Pastor on January 1, 2013. He strongly believes that he who serves the city, wins the city which is expressed through a Church-wide campaign called No Greater Love, where the members of Mount Zion come together to serve the Greensboro community.

Bishop Pierce also serves as 1st Assistant to 2nd Presiding Bishop, Bishop Darryl Brister in the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship, International. He is also a member of the Stellar Award Winning Group, Men of Standard.

Bishop Pierce, a noted songwriter, arranger and producer successfully released his first solo debut album in August 2018.  The Glory Live CD debuted #3 on Billboard’s Top Gospel Albums Chart. This CD captures an amazing sound that has helped to facilitate openings for the Glory of God to be manifested in the lives of His people. In September 2018, Bishop Pierce published his first book, Level UP Transitions, an invigorating manuscript that will encourage anyone going through a transition in life.

With 20 years of Senior Pastoral Leadership, a man after God’s own heart, Bishop Pierce strives daily to live out God’s mission for his life. Although he is a multifaceted individual, teaching the Word of God is what he has been chosen to do. He holds an Associate Degree in Biblical Studies, a Bachelor of Divinity Degree from Andersonville Theological Seminary.  He works diligently in the service of the Lord with his wife, Minister Debra A. Pierce and are the proud parents of four children and seven grandchildren.
